KILLERS IN COLD BLOOD

KILLERS IN COLD BLOOD True Crime eBook Ray Black Rodney Castleden Gordon Kerr Ian Welch Clare Welch

I found this an enjoyable mini history of some of the world's cold-blooded killers, (I won't waffle about the errors), I found it an enjoyable in that the stories were generally short enough that I was able to read the whole write-up on a person when I had a spare five minutes.
The book is broken down into seven sections which if you study history and/or read a fair amount of true crime you could guess at some of the persons that would be included (Hitler, Stalin, etc).
PART ONE: ANCIENT MURDERERS - includes the histories of Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler,
PART TWO: TYRANTS AND DESPOTS - Mao Zedong, Augusto Pinochet, Ho Chi Minh, `Tito'
PART THREE: COLD-BLOODED WOMEN - Elizabeth Bathory, Lizzie Borden,
PART FOUR: VICTIMS OF ASSASSINATION - Abraham Lincoln, John Lennon, Jill Dando,
PART FIVE: ATROCITIES - The Rape of Nanking, Genocide in Rwanda,
PART SIX: ORGANISATIONS - The Mafia, The Yakuza, The Triads and The Baybasin Cartel.
PART SEVEN: COLD-BLOODED MEN - Richard Kulinski the Mafia Iceman, Bianchi and Buono the Hillside Stranglers and Kenneth Allen McDuff: The Broomstick Killer.

All in all, there are about 60 or so people included in this book and I think I recognized about 60-70 percent of the names but that is mostly thanks to my True Crime magazines and history studies at school.

For the ardent true crime/history buff this most likely will disappoint and I doubt that it would provide any new information, but I think casual fans like myself might enjoy it. Fortunately Amazon provides the "look inside" option on this book and I would recommend you use this - that way you can see the full list of persons featured in each Part - and thus see if there is anyone you haven't heard much about, as well as read the first story or two to see if you like the style and the information it provides.

Hope this helps.

KILLERS IN COLD BLOOD True Crime eBook Ray Black Rodney Castleden Gordon Kerr Ian Welch Clare Welch Reviews

Many books have been written about people who kill other people but this was an interesting collection. Many were about killers I had read about before but with new information and there were some new additions. You do not have to read it straight thru or even in order.
This book is full of very wrong "facts". Huge HUGE errors, such as the killer's name( Richard Ramirez is labeled Richard Chase)and many many MANY minor errors. I regret buying this book and will not purchase anything by this author again, and I want to find a way to get a refund because there are so many errors.

So my friend took it upon themselves to read this book and write a review w/o my knowledge and w/o checking the facts such as there WAS a Richard Chase who committed very similar crimes in a similar time period and location to Richard Ramirez, and I am not sure what other errors they found or thought they found, but I only just learned about this review
Not for everyone but reality isn't always pleasant - read if your into true crime & better understand the mind of someone whom you just passed on the street, be aware & stay on your toes is all I can say
The stories were very intertaining and well told with attentition to detail. I enjoyed the stories very much. has many good books and I am a very loyal customer as I have over 60 books on my .I am well pleased with the service I've recieved from .
ok
Very good true crime book. I usually read fiction but this is one of the best true crime books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Highly recommend.
Some of the editing in this book left me asking to myself (because, really, my wife stopped listening to me about 30 seconds after the ceremony) what the hell? But he does go, sometimes, to try to understand these people. Stop the editorializing though, just the facts, cold as they are, that's what I paid for. Trying to be cute and coy when it comes to the subject matter is not appropriate. Held my interest through the book and in some cases held my interest intently but come on, do you have an editor Ray? Didn't think so. But he gets an extra star because he managed to get published as many do not.
